Distance:

The distance formula comes from the same right angles triangle, except the Pythagoras Theorem is used:

$$D^2=(y_2-y_2{)}^2+(x_2-x_1{)}^2$$ $$D=\sqrt{(y_2-y_1{)}^2+(x_2-x_1{)}^2}$$

Using the formula, the distance between two points can be found.
