Thank you for your interest in helping improve Ni Brain Too Sht!
We really appreciate your help.

For guidelines on contributing, please check the following.

1. Content

Content(s) submitted for approval must be appropriate to the website.

You must submit content that is NCEA/NZCE/NZACE-relevant.

The approved subjects (as of 28.09.2026) are:

  • L1/L2/L3 Mathematics (MATH/MAEL) & Calculus (CALC) (probability and statistics are NOT approved)
  • L1/L2/L3 Physics (PHYS)
  • L1/L2/L3 Chemistry (CHEM)

You may not submit any content that:

  • Doesn’t fit the website’s overall purpose
  • NCEA English notes (yes, I don’t, and never intend posting English notes)
  • it NOT a .md/.zip(if it has images) file

2. Formatting

I care about internal consistency, so please take a moment to read the formatting guidelines:

2-1: LATEX

For block-LATEX (LATEX that renders in the center of the page), you MUST separate lines between the ’$$’ and your LATEX content.

INCORRECT

$$ x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} $$

Above will render in our website as INLINE LATEX, not block LATEX.

CORRECT

$$
x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}
$$

Above will correctly render in our website as BLOCK LATEX!

The preferred program to write the notes is Obsidian, since it utilizes the markdown files (which we use on our website).

2-2: Grammar

Minor grammar mistakes are alright, but please make sure that you run your file through Grammarly at least once. It keeps the notes more accurate.

2-3: Header

ALL our notes have a tag at the top of the page, whether it’s #L3CALC, #L2PHYS, or anything.
Please make sure to have at least ONE tag, indicating the subject, so that I can identify which subject folder the note goes into.

Your markdown should look like this:

#L3CALC

---

{YOUR CONTENT GOES HERE}

The tags should be structured like this: L{the NCEA-corresponding-level}{subject-code}

e.g. L3CALC (for NCEA Level 3 Calculus)

The preferred subject codes are written under 1. Content!

3. Filetype

My website renders .md (markdown) files. I do not accept any files that are not markdown files.

I use Obsidian to write all my notes. For LATEX, I use the obsidian-latex-suite plugin to write LATEX, with my custom-snippet.

When uploading images along with your markdown file, you may put it in a folder, and send it as a ZIP file. I will unzip the files and put it on the website. Please note that the zip-files are scanned through malware-checker once before they are processed.
