I=∫aa+1sin(ex) dx
Let the antiderivative of sinex=F(x) because ∫sinex dx=−excosex+C
I=F(a+1)−F(a)
dadI=F′(a+1)−F′(a)
dadI=sin(ea+1)−sin(ea)=0
sin(ea+1)=sinea
⟹ea+1=ea
but the above equation is false — there are no values for a that satisfies the above equation!
Use general solution of sinx!
α=sin−1(sin(ea))≡ea
ea+1=nπ+(−1)n⋅ea
ea⋅e1−(−1)n⋅ea=nπ
ea(e−(−1)n)=nπ
ea=e−(−1)nnπ
a=ln(e−(−1)nnπ)
if n=0:
⟹a=ln(e−(−1)00)≡0
if n=1:
⟹a=ln(e+1π)≈−0.1685
if n=2:
⟹a=ln(e−(−1)22π)≈1.2966
if n=3:
⟹a=ln(e−(−1)33π)≈0.9301
if n=4:
⟹a=ln(e−(−1)44π)≈1.9897
Looking at the graph, the maximum area is generated when n=1,a=−0.1685, since when n=2,3,4… the area gets smaller..
In exact form a=ln(e+1π)!
